Inaugural Key Metro Vancouver and All Significant Mayor & Council Appointments Once Again Denied to Any Woman on Council

At today's inaugural meeting all the key important and high profile Metro Vancouver & committee appointments were obviously pre-decided behind closed doors at this first Mayor Rick Green inaugural council meeting and very carefully and very quickly awarded. Curiously, as in all previous councils especially under Mayor Alberts, Councillor Kim Richter was once again significantly overlooked for any and all of these appointments despite her now fourth term on council and despite her extensive background, education, experience, communication skills & resume. Instead Rick Green, Jordan Bateman (2nd term on council), Charlie Fox (2nd term on council), and once again Mel Kositsky and Bob Long were awarded all these significant appointments. The deputy Mayor position was also again to be rotated amongst ALL of the councillors as well every few months too.

Newcomer Dornan the only other woman on council, Ward & Ferguson and once again Kim Richter were all left out of all of these appointments. This Editor will still hold off on all substantial criticism and commentary for the moment in good faith for just a short time longer. But this Editor must admit that he had hoped that the "Good Ole boy's Club" would be history and I sure hope it is Rick! Obviously these appointments were all decided behind closed doors. Another troubling sign methinks. This is especially disturbing to this Editor given Kim Richter's speech that we recommend you all view which in this Editor's opinion certainly extended an olive branch to ALL the boys on council. Will they become men and accept the offer? Again time will tell.

Again this Editor awaits for more information, signals and indications but certainly thinks that the senior veteran female Councillor should certainly have been included at least as an alternate, don't you think? This is especially curious considering the substantially similar & parallel election messaging of Mr. Green & Mrs. Richter! But again, perhaps it is still too early to point these inequities out more vocally by this little ole Editor! In any event, the ball's in your court sir, & boys! This jury is still very much out, in good faith..... for the moment! Who knows, maybe it was just an oversight guys? Was it boys? Is this what one calls fair, reciprocal & transparent leadership? I'm confused Rick. Help me out will ya?
